Competitive eating

1. Why did you select the article?

I just thought: Ah! This kind of things are so strange...

So I decided to investigate a little more about it. Actually, I have never seen something like it in my life, I just knew some about it at TV.

And it is funny, because when I was reading the instructions of this activity I was thinking that I was very hungry. But when I finished reading the article, I really didn't want to eat anything. It was very disgusting.

2. Did you find enough information in the article? Did you find the info you were looking for?

Yes, I found a lot of information in it. Actually I really didn´t want to know much about food, and vomit.

3. What was the most interesting thing you learnt about it?

Everything and nothing. Everything because the article was full of freak information and was very funny to know things that you can comment with your friends. And nothing because no subject was really important: they weren't news about wars, economy, sports, healthy life, science or other kind of relevant things. At last there were not really relevant for me.

4. Make a list of 15 words from the article that you found difficult to understand. Find their meaning.

Messy: marked by confusion, disorder, or dirt. It means too extremely unpleasant or trying. Both meanings are usefull to understand the sentence.
Discourage: to dissuade or attempt to dissuade from doing something
Cabbage: any of several brassicas (Brassica oleracea) of European origin
Shove: to push or put in a rough, careless, or hasty manner
Buns: a sweet or plain small bread; especially : a round roll
Rid: to make free
Hold: to keep under restraint

Cassandra welcomes you

Hello! I'm Cassandra Lafantástica and it is my first time writing in a blog.

My real name is Amalia but my artistic name is Cassandra. I used it because I don't like the idea that people could know everything about me. I really don´t like publish my information in a blog, so I invent a character.

So, maybe now you are asking to yourself: if she don´t like blogs, why she makes one?

Well, the reason is very simple: I had to create one to my English class. Actually, now I'm in the English laboratory.

I really don´t like computation. Is true! I hate words like software, CD, Powerpoint, Explorer, configuration, mouse, etc. Is hard and is difficult. Once somebody said me that a computational virus can infect me. I was afraid... So I hope that this kind of activities could open my mind and help me to overcome my trauma.
